With NATEC, we have succeeded in producing sustainable sodium-ion batteries for industrial use on a mass scale. We presented this innovation to the media at a press conference in Vienna on April 2.

ACCUPOWER and our latest innovation NATEC are currently the big topic in the domestic and international media: We are the first company to be able to mass-produce sodium-ion batteries for industrial use – a breakthrough in global battery technology. And that is exactly what we stand for with ACCUPOWER: innovation and sustainability.

We presented our new NATEC series at a packed press conference at the SO/ Vienna hotel. We were accompanied by the Robotics-Team from Graz University of Technology, who demonstrated the application possibilities to the press. The new NATEC series was presented by our management trio: CEO Moritz Minarik, COO Bettina Haberler, and CSO Manfred Zettl.

Sustainable developments!

In summary: Sodium-ion batteries are considered the future of electrical energy and offer significant advantages over lithium-ion batteries. They do not require critical raw materials, are more fire-safe, have up to four times longer service life, and can be charged faster, making them up to 90 percent more sustainable.

t CO2
Extraction of 1 tonne of lithium = 5.15 tonnes of CO2
t CO2
Extraction of 1 ton of cobalt = 30 tons of CO2
t CO2
Extraction of 1 ton of nickel = 80 tons of CO2
t CO2
Extraction of 1 ton of sodium chloride = 60 kg CO2

The decisive innovation that we have achieved after more than a year of research lies—among other factors—in the Battery Management System (BMS) that we have developed. You can read more about the new NATEC series here: ACCUPOWER/Products/NATEC

Our high-tech battery developments are already in use worldwide in a wide range of industrial applications. The fact that we are now in a position to launch NATEC sodium-ion batteries in series production is a huge milestone in the sustainable development of the industry.
Ing. Moritz Minarik – CEO ACCUPOWER
Sustainability begins with development and a constant desire to find solutions. The fact that we are now able to bring sodium-ion batteries to series production with NATEC significantly reduces our dependence on rare and conflict-prone raw materials. We are delighted to be able to make a decisive contribution to a better environmental balance here.
Bettina Haberler, MA – COO ACCUPOWER
We are delighted to be able to contribute to climate and environmental protection with our expertise in battery technology and to offer the international industry new opportunities for using sustainable sodium-ion batteries. Technological innovation and sustainability are the cornerstones of our company.
Manfred Zettl – CSO ACCUPOWER
